How to Make Muffin Cakes
Muffin cakes are soft and delicious, perfect for breakfast or afternoon tea. Here’s a simple guide to making them.
Ingredients
- 200g all-purpose flour
- 100g granulated sugar
- 120ml milk
- 1 egg
- 80g butter (melted)
- 1.5 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
-
Prepare the Oven and Muffin Tin
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners. -
Mix the Dry Ingredients
Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a bowl. Sift the mixture to ensure no lumps. -
Mix the Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, beat the egg and then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined. -
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Gently fold the ingredients together using a spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as it may affect the fluffiness of the muffins. -
Fill the Muffin Tin
Spoon the batter into the muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full. Gently tap the tin on the counter to level the batter. -
Bake
Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the tops are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. -
Cool and Serve
Remove the muffins from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy!
Tips
- Feel free to add chocolate chips, blueberries, or nuts for extra flavor and texture.
- To make the muffins even fluffier, slightly warm the butter and milk before mixing to ensure the batter temperature is ideal.
Enjoy your delicious muffin cakes with a cup of coffee or tea to start your day on a positive note!
